MANEIO

The work is an allusion to the memories of the author, her ancestors and close relatives, where every detail was thought to represent distinct individuals that make up a single body that can be manipulated through fishing threads. It is an ambiguous sculpture, the body that represents the strength of the family and the community to face adversities is also a criticism of the society that mutilates, dismembers, and within its authority orders it to stand up and be active.

''Maneio is a sculpture modeled in parts and sewn together by fishing threads, it is the representation of a body that dismembers and reconstitutes itself to stay alive in a patchwork world.''
