Artistic Portfolio
Elizabeth Ramos is a visual artist, student of Applied Arts with emphasis in Ceramics at the Federal University of São João Del Rei/MG. She works on several fronts; ceramics, performance, audiovisual production and art education.
In his creations, he seeks to intend, question and insert discussions about identity, cultural, racial and gender relations.

This is a series composed of four ceramic sculptures that address the consequences of colonial thinking regarding Brazilian miscegenation, focusing on the mixed-race population.

The two clay pots are sacred vessels for the waters of Yewà, represented by the snake that surrounds and protects it.

The sculpture celebrates the wisdom of Iyá Sabá, the owner of the seafoam. Her body is black like the rocks where we place her offering, and has a blue shine from her dwelling; the salted waters.

Persuaded by the feeling of provocation and criticism towards the structuring and naturalization of the violation of female bodies, the work Cizânia externalizes the opposition of the conformation and impartiality of the feminicidal culture, exploring the reflections of patriarchy through the artistry of artistic ceramics.
